Summer is here. And nothing is more synonymous with New York City & summer, than a classic rooftop, with panoramic city views. It’s rooftop season, and I’ve BEEN ready for it since the last time I swore I’d put away my sweater for the last time (which literally was less than two weeks ago- I swear). But alas, it seems as though the warm weather is (finally) here to stay- so let’s sip some Chardonnay, shall we?
The elements that help create a perfect rooftop: unobstructed views of the city, plenty of comfy couches, great music and an incredible crowd. That’s what I found when I stopped by The Crown, Hotel 50 Bowery’s awe-inspiring rooftop in Lower Manhattan for the kick off of The GOOD MEASURE Tour II, this past Wednesday, June 14.
At Joie de Vivre Hotels’ first New York City outpost, Hotel 50 Bowery, a 229-room hotel that opened last month in the heart of Chinatown, I got to sip Harken Wines’ iconic barrel-fermented Chardonnay, enjoy nu-disco performed live by Skylar Spence dine on light bites and of course my favorite part: take in unbarred views of my favorite city in the world: New York City.
There is definitely no shortage of hotels and rooftops in Manhattan, but I was thoroughly impressed by what Two Roads Hospitality has done with 50 Bowery. It’s boutique hotel feel certainly catapults the essence of New York. It’s centrally located in a cultural metropolis, situated on Manhattan’s oldest street, Bowery and near Canal Street, a crossroads where distinct societies have come together for hundreds of years.
Hosted y Joie de Vivre Hotels, the GOOD MEASURE Tour II is a multi-city music tour in collaboration with Noise Pop and Harken Wines, exploring vintage inspirations as it travels across the country. From June through September, three Joie de Vivre hotels will serve as the venues for the GOOD MEASURE Tour II, two of which will be at the fun-loving brand’s newest hotels—Hotel 50 Bowery (Manhattan) and The Troubadour (New Orleans). Launched in 2015, the GOOD MEASURE tour invites hotel guests and music enthusiasts into unexpected spaces at select Joie de Vivre properties for authentically-local and eclectic experiences.

I definitely look forward to coming back for more views of my favorite city, and delicious sips overlooking my version of paradise. Help me fill my calendar, what are your favorite rooftops in New York City?
