Jalapeno Tequila, PBJ Bacon & Birthday Cake! Quality "Eats"- Eats Its Way To My Heart.

July 7, 2017

The West Village is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. The cobblestone streets, quaint cafes and classic brownstones, make it the perfect area to people watch, grab some cocktails and feast on some of the city’s best restaurants.

Quality Eats, the West Village’s hotspot is the brainchild of Michael Stillman (the guy that brought us Quality Meats and Quality Italian), and it’s an eclectic mix of the trendy, yet seemingly casual steakhouse. Come in for an unusual spin on traditional cocktails & delectable bites.

The restaurant itself is gorgeous!

Take a seat at the wooden bar where you’ll sip cocktails and read beautifully hand carved “quirky” quotes. My drink of choice here is the “Adios” – a deliciously fused cocktail with Tequila, Tarragon, Green Chartreuse and my favorite part, (deliciously spicy) Habanero Cubes.

Here’s a twist to the traditional PB & J you used to eat as a kid: Grilled Nueske's (Applewood) Bacon. It’s smothered with Peanut Butter and a unique Jalapeno Jelly (can you tell I’m into spicy)?

If you’re into cheeses (I mean, who isn’t?!) check out the grilled Bucheron Cheese, served with pear baguette.

Now for the meat, I went with the Long-Bone Short Rib Steak. It’s tasty, and succulent with just the right amount of fat. Pair that with a side of the popular corn creme brûlée, and you heart will be happy. I promise.

As for sides, I could’ve ordered them all (I have a bad habit of eating with my eyes), but I went with the Baked Potato Monkey Bread & a side of scalloped Sunchokes.

And, no delicious dinner is complete without, dessert- of course. It doesn't need to be your birthday to feast on their delicious Birthday Cake. Take a scoop of Chocolate Malt Ice Cream, mix in some Confetti Cake & top it with Vanilla Icing and you've got yourself a birthday party in your mouth.

And for those of you Upper EastSiders, Quality Eats is coming to the hood! Michael Stillman plans to open two more locations! First will be the Upper East Side at 1469 Second Avenue, at 78th Street, and in NoMad at 3 East 28th Street, near Broadway. The one of the UES is expected to open this summer. Stay tuned!!

Quality Eats is located at: 19 Greenwich Ave. For more information visit: www.QualityEats.com
